چکیده
Objective: To determine the efficacy of endoscopic band ligation (EBL) on rebleeding and mortality in treatment esophageal varices bleeding.
Methods: Fifty cirrhosis patients who applied to emergency department with acute variceal bleeding between 2018 2020 were treated EBL within first 12 hours evaluated retrospectively.
Results: Twenty-seven (54%) male 23 (46%) female. The mean hospital stay was 6.45.6 days, blood transfusion requirement 3.62.7 units. Re-bleeding observed 30 days 5 (10%) 1 year 7 (14%) patients. Ten (20%) died 11 (22%) year. need for higher grade 3 varicose veins (4.93.1) than 2 (2.51.5) (p=0.001). Mortality rate significantly Although varices, difference not significant (p=0.087).
Conclusion: is an method be preferred hemorrhage due its low risk re-bleeding rate.

Endoscopic band ligation for colonic diverticular bleeding: possibility of standardization.
BACKGROUND AND AIMS Endoscopic band ligation (EBL) has been used to achieve hemostasis in patients with colonic diverticular bleeding. The safety and effectiveness of EBL when performed by non-expert endoscopists have not been sufficiently verified. This study aimed to elucidate the feasibility of the EBL technique when performed by non-expert endoscopists and of considering EBL as a standard t...

Acute variceal bleeding (AVB) is a milestone event for patients with portal hypertension. Esophageal varices bleed because of an increase in portal pressure that causes the variceal wall to rupture. AVB in a patient with cirrhosis and portal hypertension is associated with significant morbidity and mortality. The initial management of these patients includes proper resuscitation, antibiotic pro...

BACKGROUND Endoscopic band ligation is the treatment of choice for bleeding esophageal varices. However it is not clear if this procedure is associated with less early and late mortality than sclerotherapy. AIM To assess rates of re-bleeding and mortality in cohorts of patients with bleeding esophageal varices treated with endoscopic injection or band ligation. PATIENTS AND METHODS Analysis...
